Welcome Families
Dear Parents,
On behalf of The College of Idaho Family Advisory Council, we welcome all parents of new C of I students to the most exciting part of your child's life adventure to date – going off to college. The College of Idaho provides an enriching experience for its students by nurturing curiosity about academics, culture, socialization, networking, volunteerism, team work and community.
We also welcome back all parents of returning College of Idaho students. Your students already know the excitement of reconnecting with friends and faculty. Soon classes will begin and they'll be gearing up for sports, arts, and student activities where they share their support and commitment to each other and their school. Go Yotes!!
I'd like to start the year off by giving you some information about the Family Advisory Council at The C of I. The Family Advisory Council represents a nationwide parent and family network of members and volunteers providing parental and family involvement in their students’ education and supporting program and services that enrich The C of I experience. The council advocates on behalf of parents and families on key issues. The goals of the council are to:
- Enhance communication between the College and families and develop an informed constituency
- Make recommendations to college administrators concerning matters that the FAC considers important
- Promote educational and cultural objectives for The C of I students in all majors
- Support the programs and activities at The C of I
- Participate in enhancing our culture of philanthropy at The C of I
You'll be hearing more about the Family Advisory Council this year, and you'll likely be called on for your ideas and support. The Council is your gateway into seeing firsthand the great choice your family made in The College of Idaho. We are honored to be this year's chairs of the council, and we hope you will become active members, too.
It's going to be a great school year and we're looking forward to getting to know you!
