Special Events / Fundraisers

Throughout the year, The College of Idaho Athletic Department hosts multiple special events and fundraisers that support various Coyote teams.

Coyote Open

The C of I Coyote Open is one of the largest and longest-running golf tournaments in southwestern Idaho.  The event, held annually in late September at Falcon Crest Golf Course, is also one of the largest fundraisers conducted by The College Of Idaho Athletic Association (CIAA).

Formed in 1985, The Coyote Open annually features nearly 180 golfers and over 100 sponsors.  Funds raised from this event help offset the cost of athletic scholarships at the College.

Entry fees for the five-person scramble are $100, a portion of which is tax deductible.  Sponsorship fees are $100 and are fully tax deductible.  Other sponsorship packages are also available.

The 2010 Coyote Open Golf Tournament is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at Falcon Crest Golf Course.  For further information on sponsorship opportunities or participation, contact Dave Hahn at dhahn@collegeofidaho.edu or (208) 459-5835.

Fundraisers

As part of the fundraising activities in the department, teams at the College hold events throughout the year. Each January, the baseball team holds C-Town Fight Night, an amateur boxing event, while in March, the softball team holds their annual Dinner-Auction. In the spring months, the track team hosts the Steunenberg Mile road race and conducts a Dash-4-Cash to help support travel to the NAIA Championships. Each November, the baseball team holds their annual Orange Sale, which helps clothe the Coyotes each season.

Team Camps

The Coyotes also hold camps for junior high and high school aged athletes - with soccer, softball, and volleyball camps during the summer, and a catchers-only baseball camp during the spring. More information on the camps can be found on the sport-specific homepage - typically a month or two prior to the event.
