Four Yotes earn All-CCC Men's Soccer honors11.18.2009 Four College of Idaho men’s soccer players were honored today by the Cascade Conference as the league office in Portland, Ore., announced the 2009 All-CCC teams. Although no Yotes were named to the First-Team, a pair of players were named to the Second-Team, defender Spencer Ward and forward Kazuki Murata. Ward, as sophomore from Kent, Wash., earned honorable mention honors as a freshman, while for Murata, a senior from Tokyo, Japan, it marks the fourth-straight year that he has received accolades from the league. Ward battled through injuries this year and anchored the Yotes back-line, while Murata was tied for the team-lead with six assists, finishing his career with 23 helpers. Two other players – defender Mats Boehnke and forward Jesus Lopez were named as honorable mention selections. Boehnke, a junior from Carson City, Nev., had a solid year helping control the midfield, while Lopez, a senior from Nampa, led the Yotes in scoring, earning CCC honors for the second-straight year. Concordia forward Tyler Camp was named Offensive Player of the Year, Warner Pacific defender Zach Barron was named Defensive Player of the Year, Concordia midfielder Jared Brace was named Newcomer of the Year, while Northwest coach Gary McIntosh was named Coach of the Year.
