Shelter-In-Place Order Issued for Idaho

March 25, 2020

Dear Members of the Yote Community,

Today, March 25, Governor Little issued a “Shelter-In-Place” order for the state of Idaho in an effort to slow the statewide spread of COVID-19. Effectively immediately, this means that all residents should stay at home if possible and avoid all but essential activities outside their residences pending further notification.

The College of Idaho has already transitioned to online classes at this time, and our efforts to reduce the number of people on campus have succeeded in dramatically reducing the number of people living and working on campus. About 200 students remain distributed across our residential facilities. These students will continue to live on campus in the interest of their health and welfare, adhering to the provisions of the Shelter-In-Place mandate. Campus operations will continue essential support functions for these students.  These functions are performed by five primary offices:

  • Campus Safety
  • Custodial
  • Food Service
  • Health and Wellness
  • Residence Life

Essential staff members have been issued letters indicating their status and providing permission to continue work on campus.  All other staff should remain off campus.  If you are unsure of your status or uncertain about your capacity to work remotely, please contact your supervisor.
