Presidential search committee meeting notes
Board of Trustees approved Academic Search, Inc.
The College of Idaho Board of Trustees approved Academic Search, Inc. as the firm to assist with the College’s presidential search. Academic Search President James P. Ferrare will personally direct the search. Ferrare has been with Academic Search for seven years and is the former dean of the school of education at Drake University.
Presidential Search Committee met May 12
Three national search firms have been contacted to assist the College with its presidential search. All of them will be on campus before the end of the month to meet with the Governance Committee, which is also the Presidential Selection Committee. The GC would like to have the search firm identified by May 30.
The Presidential Search Committee discussed a list of the qualities that are important to have in the next president.
C of I Presidential Search Committee finalized
The College of Idaho Presidential Search Committee has been finalized and will hold its first meeting Monday, May 12. Sen. John McGee (‘95), a C of I trustee, will chair the committee. Members are:
Communications director Jennifer Oxley will serve as an ex-officio (non-voting) member. The Presidential Selection Committee, which is the College’s Governance Committee, is reviewing proposals from several national search firms. The firm will be announced once a decision has been made.
C of I Trustees forming Presidential Search Committee
The Board of Trustees of The College of Idaho is in the process of forming a search committee to find a new College president to replace President Bob Hoover who is retiring in June 2009.
Trustee John McGee (‘95) has been named the chairman of the search committee. Membership on the committee will include representatives from The C of I faculty (3), students (2), staff (2), alumni (2), parent (1), administration (1) and trustees (4). There will also be one representative from the Caldwell community.
Letters have been mailed to the leadership of these constituent groups asking them to select representatives for the committee.
The College will hire a national search firm to assist with the review of candidates. The Board of Trustees Governance Committee will meet next week to decide which firms should be invited to participate.
The search committee has been asked by the Board of Trustees to bring three finalists forward for review by a selection committee. The trustees hope to have a new president identified at the end of 2008.
