- Klara Hansberger, a two-term Trustee of the College back in the 1980s, passed away in January at the age of 101. Hansberger was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the College in 1985 and, with the help of her family, the Klara K. Hansberger Endowed Professorship was created in her honor. Dr. Mee-Ae Kim of the history department was selected for the honor. (Idaho Statesman)
- The sixth-annual "She-Tech Explorer for a Day" event brought many high school students to campus in January. (KIVI-TV)

- All College of Idaho undergraduates are now eligible for a $20,000 scholarship if they are admitted into the Early Career MBA program at Willamette University in Oregon. (Willamette University)
- The United Against Hate event on campus, held on Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, drew a capacity crowd inside the Langroise Recital Hall. Thank you to all of our guests, including members of the media, who joined us for the occasion. And thank you to our students, like Bezawit Kassaye, who participated. Kassaye delivered an original poem about her dreams as a young woman of color in our times. (KTVB TV)

- Kris Komori '05 has been nominated for another James Beard award, he’s been a James Beard award semifinalist more times than any other Idaho chef, with his 5th nomination, all in less than a decade. (Idaho Statesman)
- Ali Rabe '10, a Trustee at the College as well as an alum, talks about the impact of the loss of some federal funding for the Jesse Tree, a non-profit that fights homelessness and evictions. Rabe is Jesse Tree's executive director. (KTVB-TV)
- Ivory Miles Williams ’21 is hired as the head boys basketball coach at Rocky Mountain High School, one of the biggest high schools in Idaho, at just 23 years old. (KTVB-TV)
- The College of Idaho's men's basketball team ascended to the No. 1 ranking in the nation in mid-January and, upon reaching the top spot, has just continued to win. Head coach Colby Blaine and his squad lost its opening game (against then-top-ranked Arizona Christian) ... and has not lost since, a span of more than 20 consecutive victories. (KTVB-TV)
- Freshman Samaje Morgan, in his first year with the program, got the opportunity to return to his home city when the Yotes traveled to Eugene to face (and ultimately defeat) Bushnell. (KIVI-TV)
- Johnny Radford had a big second half for the Yotes as the team defeated Corban. (Idaho Mountain Express)
- To keep the streak alive, the Yotes had to go on the road to defeat rivals Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon - which they did. (KDVR)

- The event hits close to home for the women, who honored teammate Jenika Zurita, who is sitting out this season as she battles Acute Myeloid Leukemia. (Idaho Press)

- Kirby Moore, who began his coaching career as an assistant at the College in 2014, is the new offensive coordinator at Missouri of the SEC. (Kansas City Star)
- Senior Dorian Harden is recognized by his hometown newspaper for earning All-American status on the football field. (South Whidbey Record)
