Visit Us
- Your individualized campus visit can include:
- A campus tour
- A meeting with an admission counselor to discuss our application, financial aid and scholarships, and any other questions you have
- Attending a class
- Speaking with a professor
- Meeting with a coach
- Lunch with current students
- Almost anything else you want to see or do!

Apply
- Submit an online application
- Write a personal essay (topics found on application)
- Submit transcripts
- Submit your high school transcripts.
- If you have any college credit, submit your official college transcripts.
- If applying as a transfer student, submit your official transcripts from all institutions attended.
- Any transcript must be sent directly from the issuing institution. We do not accept transcripts from applicants.
- Review and choose if you want to use our test-optional admission process.
- Review our Annual Security Report.
- Submit a Letter of Recommendation
- Preferably from a teacher, professor or school counselor.
- If you are not currently in high school your recommendation should be from someone outside of your family who can discuss your character and work ethic.
Review Scholarships and Financial Aid
- Determine your opportunities for aid.
- Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Beware! You should never pay to apply for the FAFSA or scholarships.
- Fill out The College of Idaho Scholarship Application
- Check with your admission counselor about additional scholarships you might qualify for through The College of Idaho.
- Apply for outside scholarships:
- Meet with your admission counselor to discuss your award letter.
- Accept your award(s) online.
Decide
- Submit your $300 enrollment deposit (non-refundable).
- Contact your admission counselor to sign up for an orientation day.
- Contact your admission counselor to sign up for housing on campus.
- Complete financial aid paperwork:
- Online Loan Counseling and Master Promissory Note for Federal Direct Student Loans
- If selected for verification:
- Review your Yotes email and Self Service for requested documents
- Submit any and all requested items to the Yote Stop as soon as possible

Move In!
College of Idaho students who are not yet 21, unmarried, and without dependent children live in campus housing for six semesters. Our residents enjoy three very different living environments: four traditional residence halls, one suite-style resident hall, two apartment buildings, and 21 rental houses.
