- The College needed new campus housing. It was needed quick. In steps Caldwell-based indieDwell, who will use decommissioned shipping containers to put two new buildings on campus - soon. The story earned local attention from the Idaho Press, KIVI-TV, and KBOI-TV. It also garnered a segment on Idaho Matters on Boise State Public Radio as well as national attention in Washington DC, Louisville, and others.
- Speaking of stories making waves outside the Boise Valley, did you know that the first state Bar Association president of South Asian descent is an alum of the College? Rajeev Majumdar '99 earned that distinction next door, in Washington, and it made news in The American Bazaar and The Indian Panorama, two publications focused on Indian-Americans.
- Another alum, Kristine McDivitt Tompkins '72, was featured by CBS Sunday Morning recently when her non-profit turned over a huge swath of land to the Chilean government to establish a national park. McDivitt Tompkins co-founded Patagonia Clothing after graduating from the College. (CBS News)
- Fellow alum Joseph Sheldon '66 gives a talk about birds after a 36-year career in higher-ed teaching. (Whidby Times-News)
- Ali Rabe '10, who is also a trustee at the College, is leading a non-profit aimed at battling evictions (KIVI-TV)
- Our incoming class of over 400 students this fall - the largest in the 128-year history of The College of Idaho - made news as both the Idaho Education News and KTVB-TV reported on the official count. You can also read more about the big class here on our website.
- Arnoldo Hernandez, our Director of Inclusion and Intercultural Engagement, was recently honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Idaho Commission on Hispanic Affairs. (Post Register)

- KIVI-TV had its morning show on location on the Friday morning before the big homecoming win. As part of a busy morning that included the cheer team, Coach Moroski, and other guests, student body president Blake Cowman made a live appearance with Rachel Garceau.

- And, on the topic of giving back, a man who has given plenty to the College over his tenure, Mike Shines, now has an endowment in his name. Alum Shay Doll '02 and her husband, Buddy Wilton, were big contributors to the endowment.
