College of Idaho

At The College of Idaho, we believe our students should have access to global education.  To study off-campus is to invest in yourself and the world.  We encourage students to go beyond their comfort zone and engage in cultural immersion and global conversations.  Whether you go for a month, a semester, or a whole year, your perspective will be challenged and quite possibly changed.  Studying off-campus enriches each student and the entire college, as students come back to campus and share their learning and experiences in the classroom.

We offer several options for you to study off-campus and grants to help offset the cost.  Apply to study abroad through our third-party affiliations with USACISA, and Semester at Sea. Or, take advantage of uniquely crafted "study away" opportunities customized by College of Idaho faculty.  Explore our Winter Wilderness or our Salmon & Society courses in Stanley, Idaho; travel to Buenos Aries, Argentina, or various cities throughout Mexico to immerse yourself in Spanish-speaking culture; or jet off across the Atlantic Ocean and explore art, history, and culture in countries throughout Europe!

The Birthplace of Democracy

Lead by Dr. Stelios Panageotou (Political Economy) and Dr. Mark Smith (History), CofI students had the opportunity to visit Athens, Greece, and reflect on the complexities and the tensions that exist in democracy from the ancient to the modern.

Exploring Vietnam

A group of students traveled with Dr. Rob Dayley (International Political Economy) and Dr. Jeff Snyder-Reinke (History) to Vietnam and got beyond the history books to see and learn about the region with their own eyes and minds.
