Shines distributes the book far and wide beyond the campus. Among the people that he sends books to each year are NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and entrepreneur/NBA owner Mark Cuban.
He had one year of football eligibility remaining and, after starting the previous two seasons, he wanted to compete for another season with the Yotes, which meant not transferring to another institution to study engineering.
The J.R. Simplot Company Foundation today announced the funding of The College of Idaho’s Collaborative Science Research Fund, an endowed fund that enables students to engage in professional research through the summer months.
The work will continue for the next week to complete the project. Once finished, the committee will deliver the blankets to the Caldwell Community Library to be distributed.
The two groups – nine College of Idaho students and four Naresuan students – met online throughout the Fall term to prepare. The Naresuan students even joined one of Dr. Dayley’s classes online very early in the morning (in Thailand) in anticipation of the conference.
Melchiorre has attended the conferences for the past 15 years but her new appointment to the Board of Directors will give her more access to information and ideas, which she can share with her students at the College.
