Mansfield put away his gradebook in 2021 after more than three decades teaching at the College. Only two employees, Marty Holly (1981) and Kerry Hunter (1988), have been at the College longer than Mansfield and history professor Mark Smith, who both started at the College in September 1989.
Chief executives from the largest private employers in the state of Idaho gave their full support to the establishment of the scholarship and the corresponding message of inclusivity they are inspiring in Idaho to attract and retain not only deserving students, but valuable leaders and employees as well.
She was already interested in The College of Idaho and the PEAK curriculum, but when she saw online photos of a robust Outdoor Program (OP), she knew she had found the footing for her next step.
“It's not about just preparing them for a job,” Haney Keith said. “It's more about preparing them to enter into society after they graduate and to be a valuable member of society, to be those problem solvers that we want to see.”

The Student Affairs Division recognizes one student each semester for their important contributions to the College’s culture. The award is given to students nominated by staff and faculty as someone who best embodies the values of the College community.
Jebessa and Moubarak Abdoulaye Soumana both participated in the Global Citizen Year Academy, a twelve-week leadership class that helped identify and enhance ways that students can positively impact those around them.
Emily Hamilton '18 didn't need an internship to complete her education at the College. John Danielson '76 recommended one to her anyway and it changed her career path.
“Many people I told about the event for my class wanted to talk about horror films as well, thus, proving Scott’s theory and tagline that, ‘…You used to LOVE horror movies… and you secretly still do!” Golden said.
