The annual College of Idaho “Give Day” event raised the bar, generating over $330,000 of donations to benefit students.
The final amount raised - $339,260 – was over $50,000 higher than last year’s total.
“Give Day this year was an absolute success thanks to all the donors who came together to support The College of Idaho,” said Lauren Schilli ’16, the College’s Boone Fund Director. “We once again raised a record-breaking amount of money and that is all thanks to our Yote community. Every year I am continually blown away by the support we receive on Give Day.”
The College had $100,000 available in matching funds and Schilli noted that contributions ensured that all of the matching funds were reached. While many donations were specified for certain programs or scholarships, over 150 donations went straight to the Boone Fund, the College’s unrestricted fund that can be used in a variety of ways. The Boone Fund supports scholarships, student programs, maintenance of the campus and facilities. Current students rely on the Boone Fund to enable and enhance their education.
Give Day happens once per year and is a 24-hour event for alumni, students, friends, and the entire community to support and celebrate the College. The class of 1966 had the most total contributions, but the class of 1987 donated the largest amount of money. The College had set a goal of 500 individual donors for the event and reached 546, which is 109-percent of the pre-Give Day goal.
The College of Idaho has a 130-year-old legacy of excellence.
