Paul Bennion
BIO
Paul R. Bennion currently serves as the Vice President for Student Affairs & Dean of Students at The College of Idaho. Dr. Bennion leads a Student Affairs Division comprising nine functional areas, and he teaches in the College’s Leadership Specialization Program.
Dr. Bennion currently serves as Past Chair for the NASPA (Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education) Foundation, and he has held numerous other regional and national NASPA positions, including Director of Region V (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington). Dr. Bennion is a recipient of the NASPA Fred Turner Award for Outstanding Service to the Association, Scott Goodnight Award for Outstanding Performance as a Dean, and recognized as a Pillar of the Profession.
Dr. Bennion earned his doctorate degree from the University of Idaho, his master’s degree from Boston University, and his bachelor’s degree from Willamette University. Dr. Bennion is a former participant in the Fulbright Seminar for U.S. Administrators in International Education, and he completed the American Academic Leadership Institute’s year-long program.
Dr. Bennion was raised in the Treasure Valley and currently serves in the community as a Trustee for the Boise School District. He has three children – one in graduate school, one a junior in college, and one a senior in high school. Dr. Bennion is married to Christina Bruce-Bennion, who serves as the Executive Director of the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights in Boise.
