Keenan Elijah Donan
Keenan Elijah Dolan is a conductor and tenor from Portland, Oregon. He has degrees in Choral Conducting from The University of Arizona and University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and a degree in Vocal Performance from Central Washington University. He works across multiple choral contexts including sacred, operatic, and historical. His research interests are multifaceted, but they are approached with an evolving lense toward critical feminism and decoloniality. He is a staunch advocate for indigenous music and decolonial pedagogy. With a pedagogical lineage grounded in bodily movement, he has been heavily influenced by the movers in his life.
Dr. Dolan lives in the Treasure Valley with his wife and child. Prior to joining College of Idaho, he sang with Resonate Vocal Ensemble in Maple Valley, Washington and served as Director of Music at Sandpoint Community United Methodist Church in Seattle, Washington where he conducted the Chancel Choir and oversaw the SPCUMC Recital Series.
