Brie Schettle is an art instructor and interdisciplinary artist working at the intersection of art and ecology in painting, printmaking, installation, photography, and video. Schettle holds an MFA in Visual Arts from Boise State University and a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has exhibited work both nationally and internationally and participated in several artist-in-residence programs, including La Porte Peinte in Noyers sur Serein, France, the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Ireland, and the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology located in Oregon. In 2024, Schettle was awarded the Western Association of Graduate Schools (WAGS) and ProQuest Award for Distinguished Master’s Thesis/Final Capstone Project Award in Creative, Visual, and Performing Arts for her thesis project Ecotones. She has exhibited work in Idaho including the Neri Gallery, Blue Galleries, Jack’s Urban Meeting Place (JUMP), Surel’s Place, The Common Well, and the Stein Luminary at Boise State University. In addition to teaching art and art history, Schettle has a background in working for numerous nonprofits and art centers.
