Resources to Guide Your Journey

At The College of Idaho, “seize the day” isn’t just an expression — it’s how we live life. As Yotes, we’re creative, original, dedicated and relentless. We know no one is like us, and that’s what draws us all together. And across our close-knit family, we empower each other, lift each other up when we are down and amplify each other’s endeavors.

Why not join us and become a part of something great?  And, to help you along the way, please see below a few resources to help you successfully navigate your education experience and the challenges that may arise during your academic journey.

The College of Idaho hosts its Yotes Food Pantry on-campus.

Chosen Name, Preferred Pronoun, and Gender Identity

Entering a Chosen Name is for students, faculty, and staff who have chosen a name that they intend to use in all interactions and correspondence (including mail to their campus box and home) rather than their legal name. This is different from your nickname. The chosen name will appear on class rosters, in advising records, and in other areas that are viewable to College faculty, staff and students. Please do not use special characters such as ^,~, `, or /’s.

To change your Chosen Name, Preferred Pronoun, and/or Gender Identity: Self Service, User Options, User Profile, Edit Personal Identity.

Email Address

Your legal name was used to create your College-issued email address, so submitting a chosen name will not change the college-issued email address. To have your email address changed, please submit the email request form. Your email address name will be changed at the completion of the current semester. If your name fails to update somewhere please contact helpdesk@collegeofidaho.edu for assistance.

Residence Life

Gender Inclusive Housing (GIH) offers students a room environment that is welcoming to all gender identities, not one that is limited by the traditional gender binary. Gender-inclusive housing is offered in any hall and is coordinated on an individual basis. This is a voluntary option. More information can be found on the Gender Inclusive Housing Application Form or contact Residence Life.

We’re committed to creating a safe and secure environment for every member of the Yote Family. An on-duty officer can be reached at 208-459-5151 at any time, day or night, 365 days of the year.
