Determination has defined The College of Idaho from the start. Over a century ago, we surged into the unknown, past obstacles, through unfamiliar terrain and toward the tall peaks of ambition. Steadily and assuredly defining ourselves along the way, we’ve flourished into an inclusive hub of creativity and thought — where an exceptional interdisciplinary liberal arts education prepares students to pursue inquiry, make discoveries and go forth as engaged global citizens.
Today, this unstoppable spirit unfurls across the College, no matter where you look. Here, budding writers, artists and musicians fearlessly pursue their passions, aspiring business and science professionals lay the groundwork for their future success, scholars and athletes from across the globe dedicate themselves to pushing their limits, and authentic, empowering connections ignite into lifelong bonds.

As a college, our “Yote” culture is part of our identity early on in our undergraduate career, building experiences that I take with me for the rest of my life. More specifically, my journey as a member, leader and captain of the Yote football program has provided me with lifelong friendships and the opportunity to pursue my dreams of playing professional football following graduation.

The College of Idaho drew my interest for the unique opportunity to double major with three minors while being able to compete on both the soccer and softball teams. When I came on my first visit to the College, I felt so comfortable in the atmosphere on campus. Despite living only 10 minutes away at the time, I felt like the College was its own community full of new experiences.

As a first-generation American born to parents working low-wage service jobs to keep my siblings and me adequately cared for, money matters. While I genuinely believed that I would benefit immensely both as a student and a human by attending the College, scholarships were an enormous part of my choice. Thanks to the help of several grants and funds, the stress of paying for school has been greatly alleviated.

Scholarships from generous alumni have not only made it financially possible for me to attend The College of Idaho, but they have also allowed me to live on campus and receive the full College of Idaho experience. Because I can live on campus, my time at the College is more fun and rewarding, and I am more successful as a student.
