College Idaho Alum Earns Esteemed Rhodes Scholarship
Kaya Evans ’21 became only the eighth product of The College of Idaho to ever receive the esteemed Rhodes Scholarship, perhaps the most well-known academic honor in the world. Landry Bamouni ‘21 offered a multimedia presentation, “My American Immigration Journey: Triggers, the African Poverty Paradox and How to Fix It” to the Sons of Norway in Minnesota. (The Globe)
The annual Hispanic Youth Leadership Summit brought hundreds of area high school students to the College’s campus in October and more than 130 of them went home that day with the promise of a college scholarship to The College of Idaho in their hands. Mia Maldonado ’22 of the Idaho Statesman featured one local student to illustrate how such an offer can change a life and KIVI-TV also came to campus to experience the event.
The College of Idaho hosted its first “Idaho Policy & Politics Forum” in early November. Stelios Panageotou and McKay Cunningham from the College were guests on KBSX’s Idaho Matters a few days before the event to discuss the forum and the importance of dialogue. (KBSX Radio)

It was a historic run through the postseason for The College of Idaho’s women’s soccer team. First, the nationally-ranked Yotes reached the Cascade Conference Tournament. Then, they advanced to the conference championship game. In doing so, the Yotes qualified for the NAIA national tournament where, for the first time, the team picked up a win before being edged by the no. 1 team in the nation in the second round. Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams had banner seasons. Both the women and the men moved into the national top-ten rankings in October before qualifying for the national championship event. (NAIA.org)
The men’s and women’s basketball team hosted “Meet the Yotes” night, a pre-season event that gave fans their first look at this year’s teams. It included a dramatic end to the men’s scrimmage, to the delight of the players and the fans. (KIVI-TV)
